Our Focus
Purpose-Bred Breeding
Equine athletes come in all shapes and sizes, and certain abilities are more suited for some disciplines than others. Some of these abilities are the result of training; some of the result of genetics.
Our mission is to support breeders in Maryland who are purpose-breeding for sport, regardless of discipline, and to help those breeders market their horses outside the state.
Any Maryland breeder that meets these qualifications is eligible for our breeder benefits. The breeder must be licensed by the Maryland Horse Industry Board (MHIB) and must have
- produced at least 2 horses competing at the national or international level of a discipline recognized by a governing body; and
- submitted those horses to the Maryland Sport Horse registry.
